Friendly cafe/ dessert/ breakfast locale on the main street beside the original Austrian/German border crossing over the Salzach River. Trendy with good healthy breakfasts. Great ice cream across the street. Located in Germany on the west side of the bridge. Prices typical. Can sit outside. Free Wi-Fi.

Schöne Ausblicke zur Salzachbrücke und über die Salzach nach Österreich (Oberndorf). Nette Bedienung und Hauskatze. Sehr gute Kaffee-Qualität und beim Kuchen gute Standard-Qualität. Angenehme Frühstücksqualität.

This is a gorgeous coffee shop. It sits next to the Salzach River and you can see Austria across the river. The bridge is next to the restaurant and you can walk over to Austria. The coffee is from nearby coffee roasters, Dinzler Kaffeerosterei. Because it’s a small town the locals know each other and it’s a friendly place. I had to wait for my travel companion for several hours here and I was never made to feel like I was taking up a (small) table even though I only ordered beverages. The hot chocolate was not so sweet and rich (but as an American, my taste may be the difference). The espresso was delicious. The entire menu is only in German.
